Leighfield Renovate the Library

A school has had its library renovated ‘to encourage children to read for pleasure’.

Leighfield Primary School in Uppingham has undergone huge changes to its ‘dated’ library to make it a more comfortable and enjoyable place for the pupils.

The room, which used to only contain non-fiction, now includes a broad range of fictional books.

Many of the books were donated by parents from an Amazon wish list created by the school.

Inside the library there are bean bags, ‘comfy chairs’ and blankets to show the children that reading can be fun and relaxing.
